to the Bulgarian National Collection for Microorganisms and Cell Cultures

 

The National Bank for Industrial Microorganisms and Cell Cultures (NBIMCC) is a specialized Institute in the structure of the University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy – Sofia.

NBIMCC Management system is certified to the quality standard ISO 9001:2015 for preservation, supply, import and export of microorganisms and cell cultures.

NBIMCC maintains almost 7400 strains including bacteria, actinomycetes, yeasts, filamentous fungi, plasmid-bearing microorganisms, animal and plant viruses, and animal cell cultures. They belong to more than 950 species from 300 genera and most of them could be found only in NBIMCC. The preserved strains are useful and applicable in health services, industry, agriculture, education and research investigations.

  • Registered under No. 135 in the World Federation of Culture Collections (WFCC)
  • Member of the European Culture Collections Organization (ECCO)
  • International depositary authority under to the "Budapest Treaty on the International Recognition of the Deposit of Microorganisms for the Purposes of Patent Procedure" by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO)
